ABOUT HWCA
Established with a vision to revolutionize the landscape of sports for differently-abled individuals, Haryana Wheelchair Cricket Association (HWCA) a non-profit organisation, stands as a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment. Founded in 2024 as an umbrella parent body of all wheelchair cricket bodies in state of Haryana in INDIA, HWCA has swiftly emerged as a pioneering force in the realm of wheelchair cricket specially in state of Haryana, dedicated to uplifting the spirits and prospects of individuals with disabilities across the state of Haryana.
Wheelchair cricket isn’t just a sport; it’s a testament to the human spirit’s ability to transcend any obstacle, redefine limitations, and soar to new heights of achievement.
OUR GENESIS
The genesis of Haryana Wheelchair Cricket Association (HWCA) traces back to a collective passion for sports and a fervent belief in the transformative power of cricket. Fuelled by the desire to break barriers and redefine possibilities, a group of enthusiasts came together to initiate a movement that transcends limitations and celebrates abilities. Our founding member, Mr. Tarang Kashyap had keen interest in the sport and was an active sports player in his school days representing school team at zonal levels, but a tragic car accident in 2011 gave him a spinal cord injury which scattered the dreams to play the sport professionally. But after recovering from the trauma, Tarang later became the first ever class 1 player in India in various para sports such as Para Table Tennis, Para Taekwondo and more. He also carried his passion for games and sports to represent his state and country at various events. His love for cricket sport and willingness to create a pathway for others to indulge in this game actively gave birth to this association. Since then, Haryana Wheelchair Cricket Association (HWCA) has embarked on an extraordinary journey, marked by resilience, camaraderie, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

OUR VISION
At HWCA, we envision a future where the roar of the crowd is accompanied by the thunderous applause of inclusivity and diversity. We strive towards a society where the boundaries between ability and disability fade into insignificance, where individuals are celebrated for their unique talents and contributions, rather than defined by their physical limitations.
Our vision extends beyond the cricket pitch, encompassing a world where every aspect of society is accessible and welcoming to individuals of all abilities. We envision a future where differently-abled individuals have equal opportunities in education, employment, and social participation, where barriers are dismantled, and stereotypes shattered.
Through the lens of cricket, we aspire to inspire a paradigm shift in perceptions, challenging stereotypes and fostering a culture of acceptance and respect. We envision a future where the triumphs and achievements of differently-abled athletes are celebrated on par with their able-bodied counterparts, where sportsmanship transcends physicality, and resilience becomes the ultimate measure of success.
Central to our vision is the belief in the inherent dignity and potential of every individual. We envision a society where individuals with disabilities are not viewed through a lens of pity or charity but recognized as valuable members of the community, capable of achieving greatness and making meaningful contributions to the world.
In pursuit of our vision, we are committed to driving systemic change, advocating for policy reforms, and championing initiatives that promote inclusivity and accessibility. We envision partnerships with stakeholders across sectors to create a more inclusive and equitable society, where barriers are replaced with bridges, and opportunities abound for all.
Join us as we embark on this transformative journey towards a future where differences are celebrated, barriers are dismantled, and the human spirit soars unbounded by limitations. Together, we can create a world where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to shine brightly and reach for the stars.
